Use Mind Candy for a Reset
You can give your brain a power nap by letting yours eyes rest on something soothing for 10 minutes.
Let your mind wander so it can process and make connections without your interference and opinions getting in the mix!
If you really want to hit the mental reset button, add some deep breathing! Inhale through your nose for a count of 4, exhale through your mouth for a count of 5. 10 minutes later - you’re better than ever! ...or at least better than you were 10 minutes ago

The Sweet Spot of Procrastination
Nothing like waiting until the morning of to make cupcakes for the kids to take to school!
Sure, it’s a FORM of procrastination to wait until the morning of, but some of us need that pressure to kick our brains into gear.
Procrastination can be a wonderful tool, if used wisely.
You have to find the sweet spot - waiting long enough that your brain is motivated (good stress), but not so long that you shut down in anticipation of not meeting your deadline (bad stress).

Inside, Outside, Upside Down
Inversions are a great way to press a mental ‘reset’ button!
They improve the circulation of your blood and endorphins which allows the brain to easier manage your mood and hormone levels.
And don’t worry - you don’t have to do a headstand or handstand to achieve ‘inversion status’ - an inversion is any posture where your heart is above your head; so you can even do legs up the wall.
For Legs Up The Wall - Grab a folded towel, lay on your back with your feet on the wall

Merry all the F’ing Way
This is the time of year where overwhelm can lead to shut down. And being shut down for the holidays is pretty inconvenient!
Remember to manage expectations...of yourself and others. Don’t succumb to the toilet bowl of obligations. If you don’t have time - say ‘I don’t have time’ because right now your mental health takes priority.
Someone’s pissiness will fade but you’ll continue falling.

Go Out + Play!
Work hard, play harder has always been my motto. It should be part of your self-care plan to make the time to hang out with people you truly enjoy (even if it’s only yourself), to just PLAY.
A lot of adults seem to think that playing is for kids...that they don’t have time for fun. Not true! As an adult, with all of our responsibilities and worries and blah, blah, blah we need play more than ever! In whatever way we deem to be ‘play’.
Playing is GREAT for the brain!

Breathe the Good Shit In + the Bullshit Out
Stepping out of an uncomfortable space like stress, anger or anxiety just means stepping inside for a couple of minutes.
Practicing breath work for 2 minutes will reset your nervous system so moving forward, you’re working from a place of clarity.
Find a comfy place to sit or lay.
Set your phone timer for two minutes.
Close your eyes or keep them slightly open.
Chin slightly lowered.
Inhale through your nose to a count of 4.
Exhale through your mouth to a count of 5.

Go Nuts for Your Brain
Eating healthy snacks keeps your brain fueled throughout the day! We’re notorious for eating whatever sits in front of our face - so make it an easy choice by putting a little snack bar together with healthy options.
Nuts, dried fruits & trail mix are a good place to start!
