Sadness gets a bad rap in our society. Crying makes you ‘weak’, ‘real men’ don’t show emotions, being fearful makes you ‘cowardly’.
That’s all horse shit.
Chronic depression aside, bouts of sadness are totally normal and quite healthy. When sadness leads to tears, it’s even MORE beneficial as it means you’re processing your emotions and releasing things that are unnecessary moving forward. Being afraid of processing feelings and emotions and stuffing them inside causes illness and disease, including cancer. Healthily expressing our emotions is natural for all beings and sadness is a tool we use to let ourselves and others know that we might need their support. 🤗
